Safeguarding at Kry

As a provider of remote medical consultations to patients aged 1 year and above, we are committed to protecting children and adults at risk from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

Our safeguarding arrangements support our clinicians and other team members to identify, respond to and appropriately escalate safeguarding concerns arising through the services we provide across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Our safeguarding arrangements

We maintain safeguarding policies, procedures and governance arrangements which include:

• Appropriate pre-employment checks and vetting;

• Providing safeguarding training appropriate to each staff members role, with monitoring arrangements and requirements for training to be maintained and updated;

• Clear processes for identifying, recording, reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns;

• Processes for escalating and, where appropriate, referring safeguarding concerns to relevant statutory or safeguarding agencies. The action taken and urgency of any such referral are determined by the circumstances and level of risk identified;

• Appropriate and proportionate sharing of information to support the protection of children and adults at risk, recognising that safeguarding concerns may require information to be shared in accordance with legal, regulatory and professional obligations;

• Clinical and safeguarding leadership, including a Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Leads;

• Safeguarding advice and support available to clinicians throughout our hours of operation;

• Governance arrangements for the review and oversight of safeguarding concerns, including review through our safeguarding committee and governance structure and;

• Processes for identifying and sharing relevant learning from safeguarding cases, reviews, guidance and national and local developments.

The above arrangements recognise that legal, regulatory and professional safeguarding responsibilities differ between the jurisdictions in which we operate. Safeguarding concerns are therefore managed in accordance with the applicable legislation, guidance and referral pathways in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, taking account of the location of both the patient and the consulting clinician where relevant. These arrangements are further informed by our ongoing assessment of safeguarding risks and are designed to mitigate risks identified as inherent to the delivery of our remote healthcare services.
